Good morning! It’s seven o’clock in the morning. Here’s the weather report for some cities(城市) in China. It is cloudy in Hangzhou. In the northeast(东北部) of China, Harbin is rainy all day and it is very cold. Please go out with your umbrella. In Hong Kong, it is sunny. You can swim outside. In Xiamen, it is windy and cool. It’s good to jump and run in the park. That’s all the weather report for today.

It’s Sunday. Tim cycles to town with Dino. They go to a bookstore(书店). They want to eat biscuits, but they see a sign. It says “No eating”.

They then go to a park. There are a lot of beautiful flowers there. Dino wants to pick some. But they see a sign. It means “No picking flowers”. Dino cannot pick a flower.

They go to a cinema. They see a sign. It says “No pets”. “Am I a pet?” Dino asks. “No. You’re my friend,” Tim answers.

Dongdong’s father gets up at 6:30 a.m. He runs for about twenty minutes. He cooks breakfast for his family at 7 o’clock. After breakfast, he drives to work at 7:30. He begins to work on his computer at 8 o’clock. He has a rest at 10:15. At 12:00 p.m., he goes home to have lunch and take a nap(午睡). In the afternoon, he works in his office again till 5:30 p.m. He goes home at 6:00 p.m and has dinner with his family. In the evening, he walks for about thirty minutes and reads for about forty minutes. He usually goes to bed at 10:30 p.m. Dongdong is proud of his father.

Sarah’s diary

Hello! Welcome to my home. There are two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, a study and a bathroom. In my bedroom, there is a small bed. In the living room, there is a sofa and a TV. In the study, there are two bookshelves (书架) and a computer. I usually read books in the study. I like my home.

Jenny is my good friend. She is eleven years old. She comes from America. Usually she goes to school on foot, because her home is near. Jenny’s mother is a teacher. She goes to work by subway, because it’s fast. What about her father? Her father is a doctor. He goes to work by car.

On weekends, Jenny and I often go to the park. Sometimes we have a picnic. It is very funny.

Today is Tuesday. It’s Parents’ Day.

Wei Min and Yang Ming says hello to each other. Wei Min asks Yang Ming, “Is your father here today?”

Yang Ming answers, “No. He is very busy(忙碌). He is a doctor.”

Wei Min asks again, “What does your mother do? Where does she work?”

Yang Ming answers, “She is a reporter. She works at CCTV.” “How about your parents?” Yang Ming asks.

Wei Min says, “My father is an actor. And my mother is a factory worker. She works in a car factory. She’ll be here today!”

“That’s nice.” Yang Ming says, “Do you want to be a worker in the future?”

Wei Min smiles, “No, I want to be a doctor. I can help lots of people in my work.”
